The greatest virtue of deadly combat is that it makes actors react to getting hit -which add tons of immersion. Leaving that aside, I second the recommendation of deadly combat. Same when I can kill 3-4 draugr by activating a spike bed. They are not as abundant as in DM, I agree, but damn! everytime I see those oil lamps hanging on the ceiling and just above the head of a bandit leader I get the DM vibe.

Coincidentally, one of the departments in which Skyrim improved over Oblivion was traps.
